EVALUATIONS
First, determine your players age.  Your player’s age is how OLD they are as of August 31, 2025. For example, if your son turns 10 on May 1, 2025, he is baseball age 10 for the upcoming spring 2025 season. If he turns 10 on September 1, 2025, he is 9 for the upcoming season.

Players that NEED an evaluation:
  1. Any player that is new to ABSA – A player age 10-12 should attend a majors evaluation. A player age 8-9 should attend a AAA evaluation.
  2. Any player age 10-11, that was not in majors last year that wants to be considered for majors this year, must attend a majors evaluation
  3. Any player age 8-11, that was not in AAA last year that wants to be considered for AAA this year, must attend a AAA evaluation.

Who does not need to attend an evaluation?
  1. Any player returning to majors that played in majors last year.
  2. Any player returning to AAA that played in AAA last year (in other words, if you are 10-11, played AAA last year, and do not want to be considered for majors)
  3. Any player age 7 or younger
  4. Any returning player age 12 (unless parents are not comfortable with the player in the majors division)

Friday, October 18th 7pm, Casey (Northborough)

DIVISIONS
Our T-ball program introduces the game of baseball to our youngest participants (mostly 4-5 year olds) and focuses on the fundamentals of hitting and fielding. Players hit a ball off a batting tee. The primary goals are to have fun, to instruct children in the fundamentals of baseball and to allow them to experience the value of teamwork.  Practices and games are combined into a 90 minute session. We anticipate have 8-10 sessions per team starting early May and ending mid-June. Most, if not all, sessions will be on Saturdays and Sundays (sometimes both days of the weekend) and will typically start between noon and 3pm.

Our Minor League program continues to focus on skills development and fun while progressively introducing the kids to a more competitive playing environment. Players from ages 6-11 are organized into 3 levels (A, AA, and AAA) based on age and ability and progressively move through each level as their baseball skills and knowledge of the game develop. The goal of the Minor League is to prepare children for eventual selection to a Major League team. In this structure, players progress from the “A” division, a purely developmental coach-pitch league, through the “AA” division, which introduces kid pitching while continuing to focus heavily on overall skills development, to the “AAA” division, which continues to have a developmental focus while introducing players to game rules that more closely approximate the standard Little League rules that players in the Major League follows.

Our Major League program provides players ages 10-12 with the opportunity to continue their development in a more competitive environment. Teams play a 12-14 game regular season schedule that culminates in an exciting playoff series to crown an eventual town champion.

Our Junior and Senior League programs provide players ages 13-16 the opportunity to continue playing town baseball in a competitive and fun environment against other ABSA teams as well as teams from surrounding communities.
