The ABSA (Northboro and Southboro) will field a team(s) this year in the Minuteman Baseball Babe Ruth (13-16YOs) Summer League (www.mmbrl.com).  The Minuteman League typically offers multi-levels of play (both recreational play and more competitive play), so the number of teams and level of play will be based on the level of interest and shared once known. 

The Minuteman Summer Program targets a 12-14 game regular season with games typically scheduled Monday - Thursday, avoiding weekend games to prevent conflicts with travel baseball games and weekend vacation activities. There is the possibility of some weekend games for makeups or scheduling issues, but they will be largely avoided. The age limit for the Minuteman League is 13-15 years of age with each team allowed to roster three 16-year-olds. The 16-year-olds are not allowed to pitch and are NOT playing High School or AAU baseball. Team age composition will be based on the level of interest, but we attempt to create teams consisting mostly of 13s & 14s, and 15s & 16s, but again this will be determined based on the level of interest! Kids born between May 1, 2009 and August 31, 2013 are eligible. 

Games will be scheduled to begin the week of June 21st and run through August 9th with playoffs the week of August 16th (possibly a little earlier if rainouts/rescheduling is minimal). No games 4th of July week. Practices will start in late June. Home games will be played at Memorial Field in Northboro, Mooney Field in Southboro, and/or Algonquin High School (JV Field) in Northboro.  

Attendance at all games and practices are not mandatory to allow flexibility for summer vacations, so don't worry if your child will miss some time due to conflicts; this is expected and planned. For any questions, please contact: [email protected]
